Jaime R Ferreira in The cat ate your tongue radio show

The cat ate your tongue (pt. O Gato comeu-te a língua) is a multi-platform portuguese radio show, a partnership between Produções D. Mona and Rádio Movimento, with the aim of creating a platform for discussion around Art.
On the 16th of July, the program focused on the theme of Visual Arts, having as guest the painter Jaime R Ferreira. Jaime Ferreira was born in the medieval village of Santo Estevão, in Chaves, in 1962. His training at the Sociedade Nacional das Belas Artes, with the master Jaime Silva as his teacher, was combined with his individual path where contact with other countries and cultures awakened to the world of arts such as music and theater, but it was the years spent in Paris that made him discover painting.

He has participated in individual and group exhibitions since 1999, including SERVARTE – collective (1999), Tejo Bar “MUTAÇÕES” (2000) and “Papel de Parede” (2000), Teatro de Carnide Gallery “MUTAÇÕES II” (2000), Teatro da Comuna “O MITO, o SONHO e a LUZ” (2001), EXHIBITION OLHAR CARNIDE (2001), Art Gallery “MEMORIES of SANTO ESTÊVÃO” (2001), PÁTEO das ARTES – collection (2002), Galeria Ruben Cunha (2002 and 2008), Galeria Bento Martins “COMPLEMENTO” (2002), Galeria Arte Jovem (2004 and 2006), Espaço Glamor (2006), Galeria Artes e Cores (2007), Galeria Tintas e Letras (2007), Casual Lounge “CASUALIDADES” ( 2011) and “Retrospective” (2012), collective JF Maia “OLH`ARTE” (2014), Casual Lounge “TRAÇOS LÍQUIDOS” (2015), Centro De Exposições De Odivelas (2016), VI Bienal de Culturas Lusófonas (2017), Participation in the Magazine ” SUBVERSA ” (2017), Galeria Bagg “CONVERGÊNCIAS” (2018), Casual Lounge ” A maybe strange world ” (2018), Espaço Santa Casa ” The disquieting sense of things ” (2019) and Municipal library of Sintra-Galeria Mantero “Tell me a story” (2020). His work explores, reflects and captures the spirit of colors. Giving color to shape and shape to color are constants in his painting. Its figures and shapes create theatrical and magical environments that aim to narrate stories with emotions. You can also visit his exhibition “Para Além do Instinto” until September, taking place at Fórum Grandella, in Benfica.
