ABOUT THE “INFORMATION” COLLECTION
“Esta série surgiu da escolha de um método « industrial », fazendo uma colagem em vez de um quadro apenas. Uma abordagem não tradicional para criar uma imagem vibrante e urbana” – This series grew out of choosing an ‘industrial’ method, making a collage rather than just a painting. The Information collection, by Rodolfo M. Costa, was created after the artist moved to Berlin, where he captured the Kunstmeile spirit of the Berlin Wall (“the art mile”). The creation of a series of 18 frames sealed in resin captures fragments of a vandalized fantasy dimension and drags them into our reality, exploring themes such as graffiti, information, advertising, multiculturalism and consumerism.
Rodolfo M. Costa is a young plastic artist who resides in Fuseta, Algarve. Studied sculpture in Lisbon Fine Arts School, where acquired skills in wood production. After his training, he moved to Berlin, where he worked as a carpenter and captured the Kunstmeile spirit of the Berlin Wall (“the art mile”). His journey resulted in the exploration of new approaches (tattooing, resin, digital drawing and editing), that culminated in the creation of a series of 18 frames sealed in resin. His first exhibition was entitled “Collage of collages” at Artesis Gallery in Tavira. Rodolfo captures fragments of a vandalized fantasy dimension and drag them into our reality, exploring themes such as graffiti, information, advertising, multiculturalism and consumerism.
