Xinyue Luo graduated with a BA from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and is currently studying for an MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the University of Edinburgh. At this stage, her work is primarily grounded in identity and time, with feminism becoming a major source of thought in the artist’s research. Luo has been obsessed with exploring materials in translucent or transparent media, whose open qualities are powerful symbols of femininity. The artist also likes to burn, splice, and overlap symbolic media to create a sense of space between the real and the unreal.
