ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The “Clerics Tower” (Pt. Torre Dos Clérigos) is an illustration by the duo Vimoc and belongs to our Golden Edition, a series of artworks on the beaty of nature and city architecture. In this artwork the artists seek to recover the portuguese tradition of the application of gilt wood carving, combining it with the greatness of the Clérigos Church and Tower, a remarkable architectural ensemble located in the city of Porto, that’s considered the postcard of the city. In this artwork the Vimoc duo eternalize one of the most notable examples of late-Baroque style in Portuguese territory, that has been classified as a National Monument since 1910, since its emblematic architecture incorporates a dynamic morphology into the granite ornamentation. rococo along with lines of vernacular continuity that create a surprising scenic effect.
