“My artworks are mostly inspired by the sea and the marine environment and are rich in texture and colour. I use strong tonal forms and a vivid colour palette. My personal challenge is for my art to evoke deep emotions and a powerful energy; my paintings also tell a story. They suggest a metaphor of the human experience as we experience our journey through life. Time, happiness, sadness, memories, nostalgia, even’ nostos’ (Greek word for homecoming) , are all linked to it. The “Informalism DMA2” is a 100% Cotton Giclée Print from a mixed media creation on canvas by the mexican artist Lilia Luján. The idea of putting together two known and charismatic painters – Mark Rothko and Piet Mondrian – in a new and common representation and meaningful confrontation is to provoke a dialogue that will offer useful points of view: The hard and the soft, the clear and the vanishing, the mathematic and the indefinite, the decided and the doubtful. This richness of the dialogues or confrontations of the two personalities lies in the innumerable aspects of human behavior: friendship, love, hate, indifference, envy, harmony, collaboration, incompatibility, etc..

In this collection Gulnar Sacoor crosses, in an exciting dialogue, Modrian’s unique abstract view with horizontal and vertical lines, his palette of primary color paints – red, blue and yellow, plus black and white, with the meditative art of Rothko and its mature relationship with colors, alternating contrasts and subtle chromatic variations, a unique and demanding place for silence in the contemplation of Art.
